It’s official!! ✈️🌴⛵️ {verdigreen} hotels has acquired its 3rd property! 🌺🌅🍹 A departure from the northern mountain environments of its sister properties, @marreros_guest_mansion is a beautiful, historic guest house located in Old Town Key West. We are excited for the opportunity to bring our boutique lodging brand back to its roots in Florida, the state Trav & I met 15 years ago. #verdigreenhotels #iykyk #keywest
We are so excited to welcome Marrero's into our hotels family for numerous reasons...but most importantly because Travis and I met in Florida and vacationed in Key West (long before our boutique hotel collection was in existence) so it's meaningful to us and our connection.
The historic home in Old Town Key West was full of character, charm, and spirits 👀😬 but also had potential for much more life and longevity! Our plan was to rehabilitate the inn and invest in the capital improvements it has so desperately needed prior to our acquisition so the Marrero's legacy can continue to live it's best life, hosting guests and providing a safe stay and welcoming home for years to come.
Amongst other updates, we resurfaced the swimming pool, updated all lighting fixtures and furnishings, replaced all the carpeting and rugs, upgraded all the linens from bath towels to bedding to luxury custom pool towels, repainted the building inside and out, replaced the shutters, repaired and replaced flooring throughout the property, and had it professionally landscaped. We also updated the breakfast and Happy Hour offerings, created a new logo and website, and made sure our awesome team of Innkeepers and housekeepers have all the support they need. It has been an adventure with some challenges along the way, but we feel so lucky to be a part of the modern history of Marrero's and can't wait to share our vision for its future with you!
Our guests can now experience the legendary cigar magnate Francisco Marrero historic home with all of its captivating Old Key West charm while enjoying all the pleasures of modern travel. Each room is outfitted with a Tivoli bluetooth speaker system, a hybrid memory foam mattress, HEPA filter air purifier, and inspired interior design. All artwork was hand selected for each space, procured directly from the artist themselves when possible, and deliberately curated to represent a diverse community of artists and makers. Thoughtful sourcing and intentional interior design is a keystone for our {verdigreen} hotels properties and we hope you enjoy the experience as a guest knowing the rooms were created just for you!
